Invasive Species ID & Removal at Woodlawn Preserve, Schenectady

  • Saturday, June 22, 2019, 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM
  • Saturday, July 13, 2019, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM

Meet at the Gifford Road entrance (GPS - 1 Gifford Road, Schenectady 12304)

It is important to eliminate invasive species when they are in low abundance, and we plan to start with two species that are easy to remove by hand – cypress spurge and yellow iris. Learn about the NYS Tier System for classifying invasives and how this applies in the Preserve. Bring work gloves and dress appropriately for tick prevention.

This event is led by Steve Young, the Chief Botanist with the NY Natural Heritage Program.

We will meet at the Gifford Road gate. (GPS - 1 Gifford Road Schenectady 12304)
