NYS Hemlock Initiative Train-the-Trainer Event

  • Tuesday, September 24, 2019, 10:00 AM - 12:30 PM

Join the New York State Hemlock Initiative and Capital-Mohawk PRISM a Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management for their upcoming Train-the-Trainer event! This program helps increase the capacity of the NYS Hemlock Initiative to educate and train new audiences around the state while providing local environmental educators and organizations with hemlock and hemlock woolly adelgid outreach materials.

  • Potential trainers should have strong hemlock and HWA identification skills, be able to use powerpoint for presentations, and be familiar with using iMapInvasives for reporting HWA findings.
  • During this event, potential NYSHI trainers will become familiar with the educational content for presentations including basic HWA biology and field surveying techniques. After the presentation, trainers will head outside for a short HWA survey to become familiar with field methods for HWA data collection.
  • Trainers can register for this upcoming training by visiting the NYSHI Train-the-Trainer website page and filling out the short trainer information survey at the bottom:
