Community Tree Stewardship: Getting started

Join us for an Adirondack ReLeaf (R5) full-day workshop that will get you started with community trees! This workshop is in-person at the Old Lake George Courthouse in Lake George. Come learn what the tools of the trade are for tree care, watch a pruning demo, hear some updates on forest health, get introduced to Regenerate NY, and learn how volunteers play an important role in caring for community trees.

Speakers include Kris Williams - Invasive species coordinator, Capital Region PRISM, Jason Drobnack – Private Lands Services section lead, DEC, Jeff Speich – DEC Forester, ReLeaf committee Co-chair, ISA arborist, Steve LaShomb – City arborist and municipal forester for city of Saratoga Springs, ISA arborist, Karen Emmerich – Tree commissioner for Town of Warwick, past-president of NYS Urban Forestry Council

Workshop will include outside pruning demonstrations and run rain or shine, so please plan accordingly. Lunch not provided, attendees may bring their own or find lunch in town.
