Pember Library and Museum presents Evergreens of Winter - Fir, Hemlock & Tamarack

  • Saturday, January 28, 2023, 10:30 AM - 3:30 PM

Pember Library and Museum has a 4 week series of family programming on trees at the Pember Nature Preserve.

Evergreens in Winter-Fir, Hemlock & Tamarack

Unlike most conifers, Tamaracks (aka Larches) are deciduous! Join us today at the Preserve to learn what makes the Balsam Fir, Eastern Hemlock and Tamarack unique among coniferous trees. Two of these trees are evergreen, and we may be able to spot the yellow needles, flaking bark and cones of the third as we walk down the Schoolhouse Trail! Please dress accordingly. This program runs from 10:30am to 3:30pm and includes educational stories, crafts and hands-on activities! Attendees may stay as little or long as they like.
