DESCRIPTION:Our offices are closed.  Vererans Day originated from Armistice Day, which marked the end of World War I, but was renamed Veterans Day in 1954 to recognize veterans of all U.S. wars and peacetime service. On this day, communities hold ceremonies, parades, and events to celebrate living veterans, and the national ceremony takes place at Arlington National Cemetery.
