  • Thursday, June 19, 2025, 12:15 AM - 11:45 PM

The offices of Cornell Cooperative Extension Saratoga County will be closed in observance of the federal Juneteenth holiday of June 19.

There are programs still in operation with some staff in the office and working remotely.

About Juneteenth

Juneteenth is a holiday celebrated on the 19th of June to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved people in the US. The holiday was first celebrated in Texas, where on that date in 1865, in the aftermath of the Civil War, slaves were declared free under the terms of the 1862 Emancipation Proclamation.

In addition to a federal and New York State holiday, Saratoga County has declared Juneteenth a holiday.
