Stop by our 4-H Animal Shows and show support for our 4-H youth, who have been gearing up all year to present their animals in various shows: goat, dairy cattle, sheep, English horse, Western horse, alpaca, beef, rabbit, cavy, poultry, along with the sheep and goat obstacle course, a rabbit agility competition, and pet care. Concerned about where your meat comes from? Stop by and place a bid at the 4-H Market Auction on Sunday. The auctioned animals have been raised and cared for by our 4-H youth. Visit Conservation Village and grab a snack from Dave’s chuckwagon, or visit with Dan-Dan the Mountain Man for some Living History while listening to live music by John Kribs and Friends. Try your hand at the 4-H Archery Booth and/or at the 4-H Shooting Sports Booth in Kingsbury Park. Visit The Wilsey 4-H Center and enjoy some interactive activities with our 4-H Club members, participate in a coloring contest, a scavenger hunt or watch a Robotics Demonstration. Saratoga County CCE’s very own Master Gardeners will be giving talks in the Townley Building throughout the week: • “Creating a Pollinator Garden at Home” with Mina Dunnam • “Composting” with Marcia Martin • “Bugs—Good, Bad & Ugly” with Lauri Dittmer • “Poor Man’s Propagation” with Anne Bateman • “What is Invading Your Backyard?” with Susan Beebe • “Pollinator Gardens” with Susan Beebe Also, in the Townley Building, Diane Whitten and her intern Ann Haden will be doing Culinary Demonstrations, including “Kids in the Kitchen” Culinary Activities at various times throughout the week: • Culinary Demonstrations - Learn How to Make Your Own Juice - Making Jam & Jelly - EggsTravaganza - Seasoning with Herbs & Spices - Making Kombucha and Fermenting Vegetables • Kids in the Kitchen - Blueberry Freezer Jam (Hands-on) After the kids make blueberry freezer jam, head over to the new sheriff’s building and have them correctly fitted for a bike helmet with our Occupant Protection Instructor Cindy Dort. Make plans to enjoy the 4-H Chicken BBQ on Thursday from 4 pm — 7 pm at the 4-H Snack Bar. Pre-order your dinner(s) here. On Saturday, visit The Wilsey 4-H Center for the 4-H Fashion Revue as our youth exhibit their Clothing and Textile projects that they have worked on during the year. Right after the Fashion Revue, head on over to Stewart’s Cattle Show Ring for the 4-H Young Farmers Olympics. It’s sure to be entertaining!
