Capital District 4-H is excited to announce the HOSTA Tractor Safety Program, scheduled for April 6–9, 2026, with a virtual orientation meeting on March 12, 2026. This program is designed for youth ages 14 and older who are interested in learning safe work practices in agriculture and exploring career opportunities in the industry.
Participants will gain hands-on experience in the operation of tractors and implements, as well as learn essential safety practices related to machinery and equipment operation, livestock handling, grain storage, and more. In addition to practical skills, youth will visit local farms and agribusinesses to discover a wide range of agricultural careers.
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will earn their HOSTA (Hazardous Occupations Safety Training in Agriculture) certification, a valuable credential that demonstrates work readiness and can assist in securing employment in agricultural settings.
