4-H Shooting Sports Winter Instructor Workshop

The 2023 4-H Shooting Sports Winter Instructor Workshop will be held February 25th-26th. This workshop is open to 4-H volunteers only. If you are not currently a 4-H volunteer, but would like to become one in order to participate in this training, we can arrange for that as well. 

The course will consist of Virtual Positive Youth Development (offered remotely by February 24th) and in-person instruction on February 25-26 at the 4-H Training Center in Ballston Spa. We are limited to 2 participants per discipline this year, so we will have to be selective regarding who is registered, and this does not necessarily mean that it will be "first come first served". Preference will be given to instructors looking to start a new club in Saratoga County, those who are looking to aid in expanding 4-H Shooting Sports programming in Saratoga County, and those who are currently members of clubs who are looking to expand programming within their club. We hope you understand our need to be selective in registrations. In total, we are only able to send 12 participants from Saratoga County. We are looking at offering a local training for Instructors in the spring for those unable to participate in February. 

Disciplines being offered are: Air Pistol, Archery, Hunting, Muzzleloading, Rifle and Shotgun. The cost of the course is $90 for those not needing lodging, and $125 for those requiring a hotel room. 

Youth are not being registered at this time, but there may be openings for Junior Instructors as we draw closer. If you would like to participate, please contact Leland at glb76@cornell.edu or call the 4-H Office at 518.885.8995.
